ABOUT HYPE CHOCOLATE CO
Established in 2022, Hype Chocolate is pushing boundaries with collaborations and unique creations through flavours and chocolate. Our first location was conceived with diversity, culture and community in mind. Conceptually, owner Scott Symons wanted the brick-and-mortar flagship location to have an aesthetic inspired by merging sneaker culture with snack culture. This translates through the clean, boutique style of the store with openness from clean walls, shiny floors and fun displays. While Hype’s other owner, Marlayna puts a lot of love & thought in to holding the integrity of their brand through inclusiveness on all levels. “Especially with the way our store is displayed and how our team are trained with making sure every person coming in feels welcome and included.” -Marlayna
Hype Chocolate was founded by co-owners Scott Symons and Marlayna Pincott. Scott being an avid sneaker collector starting with rare sneaker finds while travelling with his dad at a very young age, had a very specific vision in mind designing Hype. He’s also a chocolatier and snack connoisseur, making his brilliant flavour concepts and pairing more delicious than most. Marlayna with her background as an artist/creator in Film and Fashion has been a major contributor to the pool of ideas when putting together a design for the store to be welcoming and most importantly diverse. With part of her education being in digital, graphic & web design her days are often full of editing and creating content for the stores social media platforms, website and advertising. She is also actively involved with multiple movements, community projects, is a reiki practitioner an instructor at Blanche Macdonald, and mentor at Super Naturals Modelling Agency. As an artist represented by one of the top tier agencies in Canada she also has a lot of knowledge and experience in public relations, directing and producing. This beautiful combination of these two creatives collaborating on many new diversified ideas will keep this brand expanding on a global scale.
Not only striking a nostalgia and playfulness with a wide demographic through chocolate, but also making major change in multiple communities with meaningful collaborations, support and connections. We are so much more than just a Chocolate and Ice cream shop. At Hype Chocolate Co we offer the opportunity for everyone to have their very own customized chocolate. With clients ranging from Musicians, Designers, Community Centres to Corporate Companies, Candy stores and Influencers, there's something for everyone at our consulting/developing firm!
